Belle Thalia Creative Arts Space is an artist-centered rural arts space featuring a 190 seat performance space - the Wild Rose Theater home of the Mask and Rose Women’s Theater , the Nine Muses Sculpture Garden , the Fleur de Lis Gallery , as well as an outdoor performance space in the meadows. Founded in 2012 , Belle Thalia Creative Arts Space provides physically and intellectually wide-open spaces with the mission to build community in northern Minnesota where all are welcome at the “rural tables of creativity”. Belle Thalia is located 15 miles north of Bemidji ,MN ( look for the yellow submarine sculpture on the west side ) and its mission is to spark community arts programming in all genres for a diverse and engaged public.
MISSION : We believe that art has the power to change the world. We cultivate critical dialogue between artists and audiences; support artists through the production and presentation of new, experimental work; and create a safe jumping off locale to risk in creation. We seek to make that interface deeply connected in respect for the natural world in which we reside. Belle Thalia aims to create a welcoming, inviting space for all visitors to learn more about art, the environment, and the changing world in which we live.
We are an off the grid space with our energy coming from solar arrays and are pleased that much of the space came into fruition using up-cycled and repurposed donations .

Taste for the Arts
For thousands of years, farmers in cultures around the world interwove dance, music, theater & visual art through rituals of planting & the harvest in celebration of the land & those who care for it. Through a contemporary approach, we propose to establish a tradition celebrating culinary and other multi genre arts.Â
The goal of the Taste of the Arts spring tour, at height of planting times, THINK SPRING !! ), is to give regional visitors a 2 day spring tour that allows them to stop at several locales that celebrate culinary food artists with a focus on fermented foods & garden produce (cheeses, sourdough breads, kimchi , yogurt , kombucha , kraut , pickled veggies , etc.) & at each stop an art installation &/or outdoor performances.
